Klimt Revisited

This work was inspired by the Root Beer Selenite that I found at the International Gem Show in Tucson last year. I love its translucent yet warm color and depth and adored working with it vertically. It glows when the light shines through it. The repetition of the many textures, opulent colors, and jewel like patterns were inspired by the work of Gustav Klimt.

Green calcite, turquoise, jasper slabs, pyrite, jadeite, aventurine, green phantom and clear quartz crystal points, river rock, tiger's eye and the most beautiful yellow jasper that I have ever seen were also used to create this work.
