Glass

After a lifetime of collecting and making art out of minerals, it stood to reason that Connie would extend into fused glass art. Glass, after all, is merely liquid sand, itself comprised largely of the mineral silicon dioxide. Like her previous explorations, her fused glass work combines both science and art. Technical skill and precise planning are essential to prepare for the stage where elements are left alone to fuse in the kiln. Her work often uses wild, organic shapes juxtaposed against geometric, orderly ones to create a piece that will challenge and intrigue the viewer.
